About me

Biographical Statement:

Suzan Karen Lukas is a long time resident of Western Pennsylvania. She grew up in the East End district of Pittsburgh. She is a graduate of the CCAC School of Nursing AD program and went on to get her BSN in Nursing from La Roche College, which enabled Suzan to have a successful career as an RN and Emergency Room Nurse, trying her best to make a better life for the infirmed. She has always sketched and painted since an early age. She attended Tamoshanterns at the Carnegie Museum during 8th grade with the artist and teacher Mr. Fitzpatrick. She attended many noncredit art classes from 8th grade throughout life. She has taken lessons from Jim Monier Smith, MS in Art from Purdue, a local artist and former alum from her High School. She has taken classes with Martha Ball, a portrait artist from Fox Chapel area who teaches at FCAAE. She has attended Life Studies at Panza Gallery. Suzan is currently studying for an AD in Studio Arts at CCAC Community College of Allegheny County. Associate of Science Degree in ART,PA TAOC granted in December of 2021. She won the Meshanko award Scholarship for studio art studies. She hopes to begin selling her paintings very soon. She is an affiliate member of the PSI Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators.

Suzan had many pets growing up, dogs, birds, ducks and turtles, which has made her in tune to the world of animals. She loves most animals and especially is fond of dogs, cats, birds, turtles, fish and great apes. She is fond of the zoo animals and loves to visit and take photos of them when she can. She shares her house hold with her husband and together they have currently, a dog, a cat, a 35+ yr. old box turtle, two sons two daughter in laws and a grandson.
